16 Quadrature amplitude modulation using polarization-multiplexing QPSK modulator

Abstract

We demonstrated 16 QAM using a quad-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator with polarization-multiplexing. This modulator generates two QPSK signals with orthogonal polarization. 16 QAM is synthesized from the QPSK signals by using a polarizer.
