Abstract

Soliton WDM transmission of two and three-channel 20Gbit/s signals over transoceanic distances has been demonstrated, for the first time, using periodic compensation of dispersion and its slope of the transmission fibre without any active soliton control, sliding frequency guiding filters, or dispersion tapering fibre.
