N2 - We demonstrate generation of 80 Gb/s polarization division multiplexed (PDM) 16QAM signals. 16QAM signals were generated by a polarization-multiplexing QPSK modulator with polarization angular superposition, and PDM-16QAM signals were transmitted over 20 km single-mode fibers.
