    Abstract

This paper presents a fast calculation method for the tie-line ATC (Available Transfer Capability) with transient stability constraints. In this paper, first, the characteristics of the ATC are drawn in order to reduce the calculation time drastically. Secondly, a novel index for finding critical cases quickly using a transient energy function and a screening method for ranking unstable cases using the stepping-out times are proposed. The method is tested on two IEEJ model systems (EAST 10 machine 47 bus system and EAST 30 machine 107 bus system). The results show the validity of the method.
