A type of mixed lumped- and distributed-parameter system is considered, and a feedback control law that uses only a signal from the state of the lumped-parameter part is developed for it. A semigroup model of the closed-loop system is derived, and it is shown that its stability can be evaluated from its spectrum. A procedure for choosing an appropriate feedback gain is shown.
