A reagent injection system for stimulation to specific cell colonies using 3-D sheath flow scanner

Abstract

We fabricated a reagent injection system for biological cell cultivating microchanber using 3-D sheath flow. A new concept of 3-D sheath flow scanner enables to introduce the reagent specifically to target cell colonies cultivated in the microchamber. After the feasibility studies using CFD simulation, the first prototype device was fabricated. Actual 3-D reagent injection was confirmed with experimental evaluation using 2-D and 3-D fluorescent observation systems.
