    Abstract

The pseudo-transient method is analyzed in this paper as one of the practical methods to achieve a DC operating point solution when the Newton-Raphson method fails. The mathematical description for this method is discussed and an effective pseudo-transient algorithm utilizing compound pseudoelements is proposed. Examples are demonstrated to prove that our algorithm is able to avoid the oscillation problem effectively and improves the simulation efficiency.
