Abstract

This paper describes applied services using TwinVQ, which is new audio-coding method developed by NTT. TwinVQ shows good performance especially in low bit-rate because of using new schemes, i.e. vector quantization, in audio-coding method. Moreover, this method is robust against channel error because of fixed bit allocation. Therefore, this method is suitable for audio transmission using narrow-band and/or noisy channels. This paper introduces new services using TwinVQ, such as telecommunication-type music-on-demand system.
