Abstract

The bending loss of the LP//1//1 mode is successfully measured by utilizing an optical heterodyne interferometer. The experimental results are in good agreement with theory. The group delay difference between the LP//0//. //1 and LP//1//1 modes can simultaneously be evaluated by means of the technique.
