Abstract

The distributed middleware for network audio and video home appliances was executed on commodity software components of Java and Linux. Home audio/video interoperability (HAVi) utilized for the development of prototype was implemented in Java while Linux was adopted as the operating system. An experiment of porting HAVi middleware on an embedded board with Java chip was also described.
