Compact and High Sensitive Swgms Bragg Grating on Soi Platform for Refractive Index Sensing

Abstract

We propose Bragg grating (BG) refractive index sensor composed of sub-wavelength grating multi-slot (SWGMS) waveguides with single etch-step fabrication. To improve performances two-type gratings in a period are studied. Our simulated structure has length of 17.27 μm, a sensitivity (S) 663 nm/RIU and an extinction ratio (ER) of 29.7 dB.
