Comparison of wave model results using different wind reanalysis data in the north pacific

Abstract

. We compare wave model results in the North Pacific using different wind reanalysis data which are ECMWF 40-year Reanalysis and NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis. The monthly mean difference of significant wave heights between these wave model results is significant from the Japanese Islands to the Alaska offshore region. Some of monthly correlations of significant wave heights between these wave model results are low there. We suggest the dependency of reanalysis wind data on the wave model from the Japanese Islands to the Alaska offshore region.
