Abstract

The authors have developed new materials which can replace polyethylene as an insulator. They have increased the working voltage (breakdown voltage) of copolymers of ethylene and various aromatic monomers. Test results as well as electrical properties are presented. A copolymer of ethylene and 4-styryl-1-butene proved to be the best.
