Abstract

Novel techniques for data-coded dark pulse generation and detection using bright-dark conversion have been proposed. 10 Gbit/s data-coded dark pulse generation using a nonlinear optical loop mirror and dark pulse detection using an electroabsorption modulator were demonstrated.
