    Abstract

Ergonomic redesigning or improving tasks or jobs must be conducted from the following points of view; to increase efficiency or productivity of the task, to improve worker's health or physiological condition and comfort or psychological condition. This study deals with the worker's comfort. The measurement method of the worker's feelings toward his task was investigated. The Semantic Space of the feelings was analyzed with using Semantic Differential Method. Based on the Semantic Space, the evaluation method named the Feeling Assessment Scales toward tasks were developed for male and for female using the scales of adjectives used in Semantic Differential evaluation. In order to identify the effectiveness of the developed method, a trial was made at a VDT task. Reasonable results were obtained and the effectiveness of this method was proved.
