Development of pre-disaster GIS database system for community based urban recovery

Abstract

In order to promote reconstruction promptly after the disaster caused by the Tokyo Metropolitan Earthquake that will strike in near future, it is important for the local governments, local residents, and the city planners, to prepare the scenario for the goal image of urban recovery before the disaster. This paper clarifies the usefulness of the database for post-disaster urban recovery, by using information of community-training method for reconstruction accumulated on the database, in the simulation assuming consultation of reconstruction after the disaster.
