    Abstract

    Burg's maximum-entropy method for spectral analysis (MESA) was applied to the signal processing for the laser-speckle velocimeter (LSV). The optical part of LSV was made compact and solid with a laser diode (LD) and microoptical components. We adopted an optical arrangement with a grating spatial filter. The temporal autocorrelation of the photocurrent from the detector, which is placed at the conjugate point of the light source, is proportional to the squared modulation-transfer-function (MTF) of the optical system.
