    Abstract

    An LSI CMOS echo canceller (EC) for ISDN subscriber loop (DSL) transmission is presented. Combined with a multiplexing processor LSI, the EC is capable of all DSL equipment functions. Using this line-termination circuit, it was confirmed that DSL equipment has a reach of over 6 km when using 0. 5-mm-diameter cable for 160-kb/s bidirectional digital transmission.
