Effect of photon irradiation on SBT films

Abstract

The effect of photon irradiation on the surface damage of SBT was studied. The SBT films were found to crystallize to the perovskite phase if they are irradiated by 100 pulses of the KrF excimer laser during the thermal annealing at 700deg;C. However, if the number of irradiated pulses increased, the structure became fluorite. The large grains observed by the scanning electron microscope (SEM) may relate to this phenomenon.
