Abstract
The technique, which is based on dispersing the signal in time at the transmitter and properly restoring the signal components thus dispersed at the receiver, is known as ″smear-desmear filter″ method. A recently developed digital signal processing technique has made it possible to satisfactorily lengthen the dispersing time of the filter. The advantages of this filter technique in coping with short-line-interruptions is discussed.
