Abstract

It is said that the number of engineers (expert IT, integration engineer, production engineer, and so on) in each field is insufficient in Japan. To aim at the high technology of Japan, the establishment of the efficient and effective promotion method of the engineer is demanded. The AIIT (Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology) provides a new education system that is able to satisfy this demand, that is the PBL (Project Based Learning) as engineer training system, and the AIIT has trained the professional engineer. The characteristics competencies defined by AIIT is a part of an important target in PBL. This paper describes the PBL and the competencies.
