Effectiveness of the photoluminescent stairs at the evacuation in the pitch-dark dark

    Abstract

    When the power failure occurs because of terrorism, it becomes the pitch-dark dark in case of no nighttime, and moving cannot be taken in the close space. Then, the vertical evacuation experiment was conducted by using the photoluminescent stairs, and the effectiveness of the photoluminescent stairs was clarified in this research. The photoluminescent stairs improved the visibility when taking evacuation, was able to shorten the evacuation time when the stairs taking shelter.
