Abstract
The lead titanate (PbTiO3: PTO) films grown by PE-CVD had (001) and (111) orientations on the substrates of Pt(100)/MgO(100) and Pt(111)/MgO(111) while the PTO film had (100) orientation on the Pt(111)/MgO(100) substrate. The PTO thin film with (001) orientation had the best flatness. The PTO film on the Pt(100)/MgO(100) substrate having the crystallographic orientation corresponding to the polarization direction showed a ferroelectrical hystersis loop.
