Smartphone addiction is a state of mental dependence in which users cannot stop interacting with smartphones despite it being the cause of various problems in daily and social life. If left unregulated, it will negatively impact not only the user's mental health but also their physiological health. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp the extent of user's smartphone addiction easily. In this paper, we examined the feasibility of using biometric information to detect smartphone addiction. In the experiment, measurements biometric data from subjects in their twenties were taken while they use smartphone or not use it. The biometric information measured are blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose, and brain waves (θ, α1, α2, α3, and β waves). The measuring results are separated by subjects' smartphone addiction test score and their behaviors and compared. In blood glucose, there is the difference in the tendency of fluctuate depending smartphone use and the degree of smartphone addiction. The correlation coefficient between blood glucose and α3 waves when high addiction subjects use smartphone is -0.949. Results show that there is a noticeable difference in biometric information depending on their smartphone use and the extent to which a user is addicted to their smartphone.
