### Abstract

In this paper, a fast var and voltage control scheme is developed, combining the fast second-order load-flow and a recursive linear programming (LP). AC load-flow equations are expressed in nonlinear form, and lower and upper bounds are taken into account. A desired cost function is added to make a nonlinear programming formulation. Then, the problem is solved by repeated linearization. Using rectangular form and a Taylor series expansion, a constant (fixed) matrix is used in the iteration process, which makes the computing time much shorter.
