Fe doped La 2O 3 catalyst for oxidative coupling of methane

    Abstract

    We examined several metal-doped La 2O 3 catalysts for OCM reaction. Among them, the Fe-doped La 2O 3 catalyst indicated good potential for OCM reaction for high O 2 conversion and high C2 selectivity. This catalyst was composed of mixture phases of LaFeO 3 and La 2O 3. LaFeO 3 related to O 2 activation, and La 2O 3 was associated with C2 generation. The La/Fe ratio on the catalyst affected the C2 yield, changing the balance of LaFeO 3 and La 2O 3 in the catalyst. At La/Fe=20, Fe-doped La 2O 3 catalyst exhibited the highest C2 yield due to the most effective balance of these two phases.
