Abstract

Fabrication is described for a film with a specific dependency on certain transverse magnetic properties that is achieved by controlling the density of the complexing agent in the electroless plating bath. It was found that the dependence of magnetic properties on the film thickness and the orientation at initial deposition can be regulated by controlling the bath composition. The conclusion is that media design must take into account the change in the magnetic properties caused by nonuniformities in the microstructure in film-thickness direction.
