Footprint reduction of arrayed waveguided grating by waveguide width variation

Abstract

Simulation and experiment results show that changing waveguide widths of arrayed waveguide grating instead of changing lengths for obtaining larger channel window size the footprint of the whole device area can be reduced by about 10 %.
