Abstract

The reaction of diketene with [Pd(PMe3)2(styrene)] 1 at room temperature gave [Pd(OCOCH2C=CH2)(PMe,3)2] 2 through cleavage of the C-O bond adjacent to the carbon bearing the exomethylene group. The structure of 2 was fully established by spectroscopic means, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The reactivity of 2 has been investigated.
