Abstract

The reaction of diketene with [Pd(PMe₃)₂(styrene)] 1 at room temperature gave [Pd(OCOCH₂C=CH₂)(PMe,₃)₂] 2 through cleavage of the C-O bond adjacent to the carbon bearing the exomethylene group. The structure of 2 was fully established by spectroscopic means, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The reactivity of 2 has been investigated.
