Fuzzy coordination of economy, security and quality in power system generation control

    Abstract

    The introduction of a fuzzy coordination technique into determination of the optimal operation of an electric power system is discussed. A new evolution index for automatic frequency control (AFC) regulation capacity margin is proposed. The authors clarify the effectiveness of the technique for ensuring AFC regulation capacity margin based on the fuzzy coordination technique with consideration given to economy and security. The technique is applied to a test system to make its validity explicit.
