Abstract
Power systems play a pivotal role in modern industry. Their failures can therefore result in serious social and economical damages. It is important for power systems to be highly reliable. This paper presents a new type of failure diagnosis system based on restructuring rough sets. The evaluation data of power transformer systems for their failure conditions are obtained from experts' judgments with uncertainty. In particular, the rough set model can be applicable in situations where little knowledge and human experience are available for power system failure diagnosis.
