    Abstract

Thin films of LaOCl crystallites were formed on NaCl substrates by evaporating LaB6. When the substrate is heated to a temperature higher than 600°C, the film is polycrystalline. Some grains with a definite orientation to the substrate grow band-wise when the substrate is heated to 850°C.
