Abstract

A high performance multiple sorting system for multi-cell and biomolecules was developed. Four different sorts of fluorescently-labeled particles were separated continuously by this system. The sorting time was within 40 ms and the average of the separation accuracy was 81%. Thermosensitive hydrogel (block copolymer of poly N-isopropylacrylamide and poly oxyethylene: Mebiol Gel ) was used as a carrier flow. Multi-flow switching behavior was realized by the sol-gel transfer of the hydrogel with the IR laser performed by the AOD (Acousto-Optical Deflector) and the fluorescent spectroscopy.
