Abstract

A high resolution dynamic gain equalizer (DGE) was presented using super high planar lightwave circuit technology. The DGE module consists of optical circuit devices and an electric circuit board to control phase shifters. The circuit board had built-in electrical communication interface and a processor which allows a user to control attenuation profile without complicated calculation processing. The results show that the low insertion loss and well-fitted spectral responce were achieved over 55-nm wavelength range.
