Improvement of Start-Up Performance at the Standstill Condition of Induction Motor Speed Sensorless Vector Control Using Adaptive Flux Observer

Abstract

Speed sensorless vector control for induction motors using an adaptive flux observer makes it difficult to output high torque in a stable manner at a standstill when the error of the output voltage occurs mainly owing to the inverter's dead-time. The voltage error owing to the dead-time leads to a speed estimation error. Consequently, an axis misalignment occurs and a torque value that tracks the reference command value cannot be output. In this study, a method with feed-forward voltage compensation is proposed and evaluated. The proposed method is verified by an experimental test system with a 2.2 kW IM.
