Abstract
In 1988, Xu Bing's Books from the Sky (chin. tianshu) aroused much discussion, and since then, the artist has been celebrated in China and abroad. After Xu Bing moved to the U.S. in 1990, he created a new hybrid script under the name of Square Word Calligraphy.
