Abstract

Third-order nonlinear-susceptibility spectra of single-walled carbon-nanotubes were evaluated by the Z-scan method. |Imχ (3)| is very large, being 4×10-6 esu. Pump-probe measurements demonstrate that large |Imχ (3)| is dominated by coherent processes such as the optical-Stark effect.
