Abstract

It is concerned that the precision mechanical equipments are contaminated by particles or chemical substances in the working environment. Contamination of the surface of equipments has negative effects on hydrophilic and hydrophobic property, electric resistance, optical characteristic etc. and especially the optical influence on the equipments with lens such as satellites is seen as a problem. However, there is no method for evaluating the optical influence caused by chemicals emitted from architectural materials. That led us to develop the evaluating method using penetration efficiency of glass plate. The correlation between the SVOC and the penetration efficiency was investigated to understand the optical influences by contamination on the precision mechanical equipments.
