Abstract
This paper describes measurement of local void fraction in a horizontal 4 multiplied by 4 rod bundle using X-ray CT scanner. The X-ray CT scanner consists of an X-ray tube and detectors which linearly scans over two-phase flow test section. Measurement was conducted in air-water flow at atmospheric pressure. It was shown that distribution of subchannel average void fraction obtained from local void fraction becomes homogeneous as flow quality or mass flux increases.
