Abstract

An angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) study of doped La2-xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) was performed. The results have revealed that a weak but sharp "quasiparticle" (QP) peak crossing the chemical potential, i.e., the Fermi level (EF), along the zone diagonal k=(0, 0)-(π, π) direction and hence an "arc" of Fermi surface in this region. This indicates that the spin-glass phase was indeed a metal with a novel electronic structure.
