    Abstract

Recently, Rh-Mg substitution to the delafossite oxide, CuRhO2 was found to show metallic behavior without lowering mobility. Motivated by this discovery, we study the Mg substitution effects of another oxide. Unfortunately, Rh-Mg substitution in spinel oxide ZnRh2O4 was not so successful good as that in CuRhO2. The room-temperature resistivity and thermopower of ZnRh1.4Mg0.6O4 are 55 mΩcm and 75 μV/K, respectively. This difference may be due to the dimensionality of crystal structure.
