Nambu-Goldstone mode in trapped Bose-Einstein condensation

    Abstract

    The Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of neutral atoms in quantum field theory (QFT) and thermal field theory (TFT) is formulated. An infinitesimal breaking term to control the behaviors of the system in the infrared region is introduced. The Nambu-Goldstone (NG) mode possesses an artificial non-zero energy. The results indicate that the existence of the NG mode effects observable quantities, such as, condensate profile.
