Abstract

A simple neuron network model of the CA1 area of the hippocampus was constructed to investigate the relationship between the time structure of impulses and synaptic modification. By extensive numerical simulation, it was found that most of the experimental data were reproduced, and that chaotic stimuli on the border of the stationary and non-stationary regimes had the largest effect on the amplitude of LTP.
