Abstract

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, has been considering promotion of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment through the real estate sector. Wellness and comfort are important social factors. The MLIT working group developed a scheme for certification systems for workplace wellness and comfort. On December 20, 2017, the interim summary was presented to the public and discussions regarding the structure of the certification system were conducted. An indoor working environment is one of the major contributors to a worker's wellness and comfort. In this report, the background and basic structure of the evaluation scheme are described.
