Novel block feeding method in the single-sided linear induction motor with a short secondary member

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel block feeding method in linear induction motors. Using the proposed method, the number of excited coils becomes small compared with the ordinary method. Thus the efficiency is improved. We confirm the validity of the method by finite element analysis and experiments.
