Abstract

This paper has described an on-line visual sensor for arc welding. Although several types of visual sensor had been developed, its cost was practically high and not suitable for the severe shop floor condition of arc-welding. But remarkable progress of electronic devices made it easy to build a practical system, and we have developed such a system for an arc-welding robot.
