One port ring refractive index sensor with attached sub-ring

    Abstract

    In this report, we propose a ring resonator with one vertical input and output port attached with another ring resonator. One of the ring resonators serves as a sensor and the other as a reference. The device characteristics were examined using the FDTD simulation.
