Optical comb-based versatile wavelength division multicasting add-drop node for efficient WDM networks

Abstract

We demonstrate a robust and modulation-format-transparent multicasting wavelength converter based on a Mach-Zehnder optical comb generator. All the wavelength-converted channels show maximum 0.6 dB and 1.1 dB penalties for QPSK and 16QAM signals, respectively.
