Optical Modulator with the Digitized Transfer Function for Multilevel Amplitude Shift Keying

    Abstract

    We propose and devise a digitized optical modulator for 4-ASK. The proposed device enables optical modulation and waveform shaping for multilevel amplitude shift keying simultaneously. The measured transfer function of the fabricated modulator shows good agreement with the designed function.
