Optical modulators for 100 GbE

Abstract

We describe optical modulation techniques for high-capacity transmission systems. An integrated versatile modulator consisting of three Mach-Zehnder structures can achieve various types of lightwave modulation, such as differential quadrature phase shift keying, quadrature amplitude modulation.
